The Library Services (Potch Campus) took part in the Postgraduate Open Day on Saturday, 13 August. After the formal programme in the Sanlam Auditorium students dispersed all over the campus to the different Faculties. The Library was indicated as a visiting point on the official programme. Prospective postgraduate students visited the Library to see the facilities. Alumni and parents were pleasantly surprised by the new look of the Library, especially the Research Commons. The Librarian for Research Support handled the enquiries about services and training rendered to postgraduates and researchers.
As many postgraduate students are not aware of the Library’s Bindery, an exhibition was held in the foyer of the Library where examples of their work were shown, for instance bound Theses and Dissertations and also books that have been restored.
Ferdi’s Coffee Shop and the Branch Libraries (Music, Education and Theology) were also open to give a complete overview to prospective students about the facilities and services that the Library Services render.
